Fille Cainglet will be one of the 11 volleybelles, who will be sharing their expertise in the two-session camp.

MANILA - Eleven of the leading players of the Shakey’s V-League make up the star-studded roster of trainers when the league holds its outreach volleyball camp tomorrow at the Ateneo gym in Quezon City.

Nerissa Bautista, Angela Benting, Fille Cainglet, Rachel Ann Daquis, Jheck Dionela, Jem Ferrer, Cherry Macatangay, Sue Roces, Pau Soriano, Rhea Dimaculangan and Alyssa Valdez will share their expertise in the two-session clinic, which will feature the basic skills training, including digging, setting, spiking and serving

The day-long clinic will be capped by a mini-game among participants.

Ateneo coach Roger Gorayeb is the camp director.

The camp is open to girls 6 to 18 years old on a first-come, first-served basis. Free listup starts at 8 a.m. with priority to be given to public school students. All participants must present their IDs and wear white T-shirts, playing shorts and rubber shoes.

It will have a maximum of 32 participants per session with the first set from 9 a.m.-12 noon and the other from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to give the campers proper and effective one-on-one training.

The summer camp is part of Shakey’s V-League advocacy in its continuing effort to develop the sport with the league stars backing up the project as their way of giving back to the fans and at the same time inspire the young girls to take up the sport.

The sessions will also offer training similar to what volleyball players do, such as teaching the proper body form, correct arm and hand movement and other preparatory exercises.
